Mount Alexander Cycling is a new peak body, formed to promote cycling in Mount Alexander Shire and act as an advocacy group for all cyclists.
Recently, in the bike-decorated gardens of The Hub Plot in Castlemaine, Mount Alexander Cycling (MAC) was launched. It has representatives from most of the cycling-related groups in this region. Each group has signed up to an agreement to work together to improve conditions, awareness and support for all cyclists in the shire, whatever their bike or style of riding. MAC comprises Castlemaine Cycling Club, Mount Alexander E-bikes, Newstead Walks and Wheels, Maldon Cycling, Castlemaine Rocky Riders, Castlemaine – Maryborough Rail Trail and CycleSafe Mount Alexander.
The launch gained some publicity.
